Well, this will likely be the last post I type from Sacramento; I'm boarding a flight to Phoenix then finally to New York City. If you followed this blog to read some idiot's perspective of the greater Sacramento region, then you have even less reason to follow it now.
I didn't plan on being in Sacramento longer than the year it took to get residency and get that cheap, cheap tuition to a UC school...I ended up staying for three. The last few weeks of trying to see everyone and everything I could before jetting off made me realize how little I actually did around here outside of work. I never took advantage of being close to all the natural parks and the Jelly Belly factory, for instance. But I did get to see a lot of schools and cop cars. Also, river rafting was a blast. And thanks to whoever took a $562 cash advance from my credit card just as I was leaving; please don't break into my car again before the car shipper gets to it.
But I feel fortunate to have the made some of the best friends I'll ever have, who mentored and encouraged me along my path. I hope the best for them, also for The Bee, which was as good as workplace and experience I could have, and as good as paper a regional city can wish for.
Andn ow I have to de-list my Sacramento blog roll. Bye bye, yummy food blogs.
